Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Skeet collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your information. We have tried to write it in plain language.

01.Who we are

Skeet (“Skeet,” “we,” “us”) is the intelligent studio for modern video creators. This policy covers the Skeet platform at skeet.now and its companion products, including the Agentic Editor at app.skeet.now and the clive live-clipping product at clive.skeet.now.

Where this policy and a product-specific policy (such as clive’s) differ, the product-specific policy controls for that surface.

02.Information we collect

  • Account information. Name, email, and salted, hashed password when you create an account. Profile photo and display name if you sign in through Google. Workspace and team membership information.
  • Media assets. The video, audio, and image files you upload to your projects, along with derived data such as thumbnails, waveforms, and scene-level metadata generated by our media-analysis worker.
  • Project state. Timelines, edits, render history, comments, and any other content you create inside the editor.
  • Connected accounts. OAuth tokens for any third-party service you connect (Google for sign-in or YouTube upload, future TikTok/Instagram integrations, etc.). We never receive your passwords for these services.
  • Payment information. Subscription tier, billing address, and tokenized card reference. Full card numbers are handled by our payment processor and never touch our servers.
  • Service telemetry. IP address, browser user-agent, device type, and the pages or features you use, for security, abuse prevention, and product improvement.
  • Support correspondence. If you contact support, the contents of your messages and any attachments.

03.How we use your information

We use this information to:

  • provide, maintain, and improve the editor and related services;
  • process media so the AI agent can scout, trim, and assemble sequences for you;
  • render and deliver exported videos;
  • send transactional emails (verification, password reset, billing receipts) and, with your consent, product updates;
  • investigate abuse, enforce our Terms, and meet legal obligations;
  • secure the service against fraud, account takeover, and platform abuse.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use the content of your media or projects to train third-party AI models. We do not display advertising inside Skeet and do not share your data with advertisers.

04.AI and model providers

Skeet’s creative intelligence relies on third-party machine learning model providers (currently Google’s Gemini family). When the agent needs to plan an edit, scout footage, or generate a caption, the relevant inputs (which may include short excerpts of your media or metadata derived from it) are sent to the model provider. We use providers that contractually agree not to train their models on API inputs. We do not send your raw video files in full to model providers; analysis runs server-side and only the derived signals needed for a particular task are forwarded.

05.Third parties we share with

We use a small set of sub-processors to operate Skeet. Each receives only the data strictly necessary for its function:

  • Amazon Web Services: hosting, S3 storage, ECS compute, CloudFront delivery.
  • Google (Gemini API, Cloud Vision): media analysis, agent reasoning, captioning.
  • Stripe: subscription and one-time payment processing.
  • Resend: transactional email delivery.
  • Sentry: aggregated, scrubbed error telemetry.
  • BetterAuth: identity and session management.

We may disclose information to comply with a lawful subpoena, court order, or other legal process; to defend against claims of abuse; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your data is transferred.

06.Data retention

Your media assets and project state are retained while your account is active and for as long as the project exists. Deleted projects are removed from production systems within 30 days. Account information is retained while your account is active and for up to 30 days after deletion to allow recovery, after which it is purged. Encrypted backups follow a 90-day rolling retention.

07.Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, port, restrict, or delete the personal information we hold about you; to object to certain processing; and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, email legal@skeet.now from the address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days. We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.

08.Security

We protect your data with TLS in transit, encryption at rest for media and database content, scoped credentials for every sub-processor, mandatory multi-factor authentication for production access by our engineers, and routine review of access logs. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

09.International data transfers

Skeet is operated from the United States and our infrastructure is currently hosted in US-East. If you use Skeet from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required by applicable law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

10.Children

Skeet is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, email legal@skeet.now and we will delete the account.

11.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent change. For material updates we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the new policy takes effect.
